Mile High Card Company Auction Offers Rare Vintage Sets & Memorabilia

Mile High Card Company is making waves in the world of sports card collecting with its highly anticipated auction featuring a plethora of rare vintage sets and memorabilia. The first major auction of 2024 boasts over 2,000 lots, with the spotlight shining on the top-ranked PSA graded 1968 Topps Registry set. This prestigious set, being sold card-by-card, includes coveted PSA 10 copies of legendary players like Mickey Mantle, Johnny Bench (rookie), Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Rod Carew, and a PSA 9 Nolan Ryan rookie card.

One of the auction’s key draws is the array of notable 1968 Topps cards up for grabs. Collectors are sure to be enticed by the high-grade singles from the #1 ranked Registry set, offering a rare opportunity to enhance PSA Set Registry collections with these sought-after gems. Early bidding frenzy has already driven the price of a 1997 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems #23 Michael Jordan card – one of the 90 red versions – to soar past the $100,000 mark, indicating a strong demand among enthusiasts.

Basketball aficionados will find a gem in the form of a PSA 8.5 Wilt Chamberlain 1961-62 Fleer rookie card, while hockey enthusiasts can vie for the highly coveted 1966 Topps USA Test Bobby Orr rookie card graded PSA 8.5, a true treasure in the hobby. The auction also caters to fans of pre-war classics, with a selection of early Ty Cobb cards and other gems like the 1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal 150/649 Christy Mathewson White Cap SGC 8 and multiple 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig cards up for grabs.

Post-war highlights are aplenty, with standout lots including a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 graded SGC 4, 1948 and 1949 Bowman Jackie Robinson cards, along with a series of high-grade Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, and Mickey Mantle cards spanning from the 1950s to the 1970s. Collectors with diverse interests will find a variety of items in the auction, from a 1957 Topps Bill Russell graded PSA 6.5 to a Jim Brown 1964 Philadelphia #30 graded PSA 10 and a Wayne Gretzky 1979 O-Pee-Chee rookie graded PSA 8.5. In addition, there’s a 2015-16 Exquisite Collection Connor McDavid Rookie Relics card, a 1910s American League “All-Star” Team photo, and unopened vintage card boxes awaiting bids.

For those eager to place their bids, the auction is already live, with bidding scheduled to close on April 13. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a newcomer to the hobby, the Mile High Card Company auction promises a veritable treasure trove of high-end sports cards, vintage memorabilia, and unopened product cases, catering to a wide spectrum of collecting interests.
